09 Disable

What Is It?

If you would like to effectively ignore a question without having to delete it, you may choose to Disable the question. A disabled question will not be displayed on the screen, any action commands (e.g. recodes) will not be evaluated, and no data will be written to the data file.

A Disabled question is indicated by a red 'no' symbol in Survey Shaper's designer pane.

Things to Consider

If you wish to prevent the question from appearing on the screen, but you also require any action commands (e.g. recodes) to still be evaluated with the data also written to the data file, the Hide property should be used instead of Disable.

How Do I Use This?

By default, all new questions in Survey Shaper are enabled (i.e. the Disable box in unchecked). If you wish to disable the question, simply check the Disable box in the advanced section of the Properties Pane.
